British Shorthair Golden Tabby Cat - British Shorthair - Pet Cat
The Golden British Shorthair cat is a very popular and rare color variant among British Shorthair cats.
Origin and Development Process: The Golden British Shorthair was developed through crossbreeding between the British Blue Shorthair and the Chinchilla cat. Initially, the breeding resulted in the Silver Tabby variant. However, during the breeding process of the Silver Tabby, some individuals exhibited a reversion to an ancestral trait, where the originally white undercoat mutated to a golden yellow color, thus giving rise to the Golden Tabby variant.
Rarity: Since the golden gene is recessive compared to the silver gene, only two parent cats carrying the golden gene can produce Golden Tabby offspring. This makes the Golden Tabby variant extremely rare.
