This dark giant dan is dedicated to the fantasy world of future epochs: a decadent and desolate future world filled with contradictions and freshness, nurtured by 3D visual materials full of human-divine integration, alien civilizations, and data-centric new religions.

Punk culture infused with sci-fi elements, brimming with savage human nature, elitist capitalism, and a lack of awe for the human-divine distinction... This sense of chaos subverts the original orderly rules, leading to the distortion and conflicts of various human values, where a lack of order on Earth is akin to hell. A world without moderation appears desolate, with the absence of boundaries between humans, gods, Buddhas, demons, ghosts, and beasts... The Fourth Group of Shanhai Punk is named: Wildman, Barbarian God, Ruined Buddha, representing a chaotic and lost new era.

[Dream·Mirror China] is an experimental project based on a dark Chinese style IP, riding on dreams through dream-based worlds such as gods, demons, Buddhas, monsters, ghosts, fairies, Shanhai, and the future. It corresponds to the source cultures of Journey to the West, Investiture of the Gods, Shanhai Jing, Liaozhai Zhiyi, folklore, customs, and more. The dark giant LoRA Dan is one of the aesthetic experiments; consuming this dan can incorporate some Chinese elements such as Chinese architecture and Buddhist themes to verify its generalization abilities. The author's current verification conclusion is positive, welcoming everyone to resonate. A typical aesthetic like my Shanhai Punk series is an attempt to fuse Shanhai Jing with cyberpunk.

The vastness of the universe is beyond human comprehension; what we consider normal scales can only measure so much. Whether it's Kun or Peng, both are existences that surpass the norms of humanity. For instance, Zhuangzi's dream of being a butterfly blurs the boundary between humans and butterflies, embodying the transformation of all things. Our current discussions about digitalization and the metaverse involve embodiment, indicating immersive experiences that our physical bodies can sense. What we pursue is the embodiment of disembodiment, making those fanciful ideas and scenarios tangible.


With such questions in mind, I often find myself perplexed, wondering if the seemingly natural conclusions or experiences are truly reliable. Am I unknowingly confined within my own comfort zone? Is AIGC really just a productivity tool? If a tool is a potential invention idea, shouldn't the first invention before many great new things be an entirely new tool? The process of humans continually inventing tools is the process of their own development, from data to information to knowledge, and finally to the invocation of virtual personalities through artificial intelligence. The effective aggregation of data forms meaningful information, where the flow and regeneration of information represent a process of knowledge-building. The next step is how to collaborate across modalities based on a stable and self-consistent logic, similar to our personalization. Personalization is undoubtedly an ongoing dynamic and self-consistent process, and alchemists seem to be continuously slicing and data-fying their personalizations. Is this also a process of self-replication and evolution?


There are many questions, and pondering is necessary. The flowing water does not rot, and the contemplation is relentless. Let's talk further about my creation called Dongfang Kunpeng, the Chinese style dan.

Western aesthetics excel at depicting entities, using physical rules like mastering light, shadows, perspective, materials, alongside the internal functioning rules of neuroscience, psychology, and brain science to create embodiment. This approach is undoubtedly successful. Therefore, to achieve visual and auditory infectivity, we must learn the distilled embodiment techniques from the West that are sensual and stimulating (which I refer to as sexy). Hollywood's narrative aesthetics are based on this corporeal sensuality - a visually and aurally stimulating aesthetic. In contrast, Eastern aesthetics strive to shed the bondage of the body, allowing imagination to take flight; only when the domain of thought expands can we see various life situations. These layers of multiple realms are housed within a magnified and self-contained celestial realm. So, how do we unfold the wings of imagination effectively? This is the skill that we, Eastern individuals, excel at. The metaverse we often discuss is essentially the embodiment of our ancient sages dwelling in the mountains with dim lights and dry ink as companions, roaming vividly through parallel universes such as Liaozhai Zhiyi, Journey to the West, and Shanhai Jing. The universe is the sum of endless time and space, where the universe is the above and the world is the below. In this vast universe, how many existences transcend science and rationality? Perhaps where physics ends, the marvel of human thought begins. With the advent of AI, perhaps the greatest asset in human-AI coexistence will be this incredible power of imagination and the ever-expanding desires.


In recent years, I have been re-reading classical Chinese cultural classics, focusing more on Confucianism and Taoism with minimal exposure to Buddhism, occasionally delving into Zen. I have read Laozi the most, multiple versions of the "Dao De Jing" and "Zhuangzi," particularly deepening my appreciation for Zhuangzi's "Free and Easy Wandering". The grandeur, depth of inquiry, and metaphors in his works truly leave one in awe. Flowing back in time, transforming in myriad ways like the Shanhai Jing, as simple as the "Book of Poetry," and as spiritful as the "Free and Easy Wandering"...

Furthermore, I have been studying the art of AI alchemy, attempting to aid in the visualization of this grand metaphorical grandeur. This endeavor is certainly challenging but highly valuable, worthy of deep exploration and refinement. Last week, I finally finished reading the book "Why Greatness Cannot be Planned," suddenly understanding many previously inexplicable aspects of my life. It turns out that I was merely collecting sufficient "stepping stones," as many seemingly useless objects often prove to be valuable in the future, and many inadvertently planted willow trees often grow into deep-rooted shades. The author is a senior AI expert who, along with his colleagues, developed an experimental website similar to an image gene, allowing individuals to continue evolving others' generated images according to their preferences (I have not verified this, but it should be the website artbreeder.com that I was really into last year for a while), an experiment in purposeless and plan-less self-evolution through an algorithm.


The journey from the past to the present undeniably follows a certain path, but from the present to the future, there is no clear road to follow. The path from the present to the future is not a straight line, but rather intricate and chaotic. Since encountering AIGC in April last year, I believe my perception has undergone significant changes in many aspects. Sustained openness, no preconceptions, and continuous learning have become my new motto. There will always be an experimental field missing between new cognition and practice, hence, under the blind tinkering of two other companions, Love Zhi Island was born. Talking about the future in what is considered the AI era is futile because the uncertainty surpasses our imagination. The only thing we can do is accumulate enough stepping stones. And the best use of these stepping stones is to build them into a public arena, allowing individuals with different cognitions and needs to take them for their next steps. This can be considered a form of reading practice following the completion of "Why Greatness Cannot be Planned."

This is because there are thousands of differential selection steps in between: large models, small models, plugins, prompts, knowledge structures, accumulated genres, aesthetic tastes...
